Daria Pasechnik
Daria Pasechnik was born in 1997 in Moscow, where she currently lives and works.Received her art education at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov in the program "Painting and Drawing". Graduated from the Institute ofContemporary Art. Joseph Bakshtein in the field of "New artistic strategies". Currentlystudying at the Art TECH Master's program at the National Research University ofTechnology MISIS. The personal exhibition “Dashing 90s” was held at the Independent ArtAssociation WIP in 2021
About the artist
The central theme in Daria Pasechnik’s artistic focus is the influence of the internet and digital technologies on visual culture: the transformation of established visual tropes and cultural codes, the interplay between the fictional and the real, and the distortion of time and
space. Three-dimensional objects have become a new reality, while the digital version of the world has emerged as an alternative to physical reality and its conventional visual perception. To deeply explore internet mythology, Daria Pasechnik recreates fragments of the virtual world through painting and integrates them into familiar everyday contexts. As her primary visual technique, the artist employs a low-polygonal pattern, mimicking the logic of 3D modeling in image production.
Daria Pasechnik works with airbrush, painting narratives about the world in the age of technological culture: ordinary objects mutate within the context of technological advancements, reflecting fantasies of a new, transmedia reality.
