About the artist
In the works, Katya Shinkareva explores the moment when a new image is born, often turning to inconspicuous fragments of everyday life that linger on the periphery of our perception — bringing the hidden, profound essence of the image to the visible surface. By placing these fragments in a shared space, the artist brings subconscious reflection to the forefront, creating an interplay between them and allowing them to coexist. In this process, some elements begin to influence others, absorbing and transforming both themselves and the surrounding space. This interaction becomes a kind of metaphor for existence, where its different aspects intertwine, generating new meanings and contexts — giving rise to a new foundation for a deeper understanding of the familiar.
