About the artist
Rostan Tavasiev rethinks the history of art by launching soft toys, which, innocently and cheerfully playing, create works and interact with them. The method of playful abstract expressionism invented by the artist in the 2000s is best known as “hippopart”, where toys are co-authors, leaving their color and shape on canvases. Since the 2020s Rostan Tavasiev has been developing the concept of creating works of art from astronomical objects in outer space. The artist works with such media as painting, graphics, objects and installation.
