At the core of Tatiana Seliverstova’s artistic practice lies being itself: the artist seeks lacunae of meaning within the layers of everyday life, bringing them to the surface and mythologizing them. Objects that have disappeared from view due to their uselessness or ugliness; signs that have lost their significance; or events whose memory has worn thin. Her primary method is the inversion of reality, which creates a tension between the real and the imaginary, where both levels begin to interact as equals. In her practice, material always follows the idea: it may be graphics, an object, or spatial work. Processuality and the behavior of the material become an independent voice participating in the statement.
