About the artist
Victoria Utikalko primarily works with porcelain and clay because of their absolute unpredictability. The delicacy and fragility of porcelain create a sense of weightlessness, prompting viewers to associate it with themselves. The artist’s works convey emotions and feelings through handwritten text, personal photographs, and relief that serves as a frame. Victoria Utikalko documents not events, but her inner states. The glaze, as if preserving a moment, immortalizes it. Her works exist at the intersection of graphic art, painting, photography, and applied arts, immersing the viewer in a sea of inner experiences and memories.
