Cradle of Life is a collection of stories-as-sensations. The works are about tenderness, fragility, transience, and the contradictory nature of the surrounding world, which can be found both in the ordinary, the everyday, and in accidental beauty; at times even — in what is unsettling, unfamiliar.

The artist seeks to capture narrative scenes filled with a wide range of, at times contrasting, sensations: eternity and decay existing simultaneously, tenderness and sharpness, chaos and harmony, corporeality and emptiness. And, of course, love, awe, fear. All of these notions are inseparable from one another, existing within an eternal cyclical loop, continually transforming into and complementing one another.

The exhibition consists of three visual spheres: life, temple, and death. The main body of works is devoted to the narratives of life — about the balance of chaos and harmony, about perpetual flow, about history and the present. Death is addressed in several works located in the furthest part of the exhibition; they speak of eternity, acceptance, sharpness, and silence. The metaphorical temples exist, as it were, in between; they are about tranquility, permanence, light, and magic.

The stories told in the works are entirely real. Yet, against the backdrop of the visual — almost tactile and sonic — contradiction of the images, a sense of the magic of what is unfolding begins to take shape within the viewer. The silence of snow-white ruins set against sharp, dark driftwood; eerie moth-like ghosts resting upon velvety white gloves; vivid, lush grasses that seem to have become living beings of their own, lying in wait beside the wall of a gray city; a girl in a scarlet, seemingly luminous dress, lying against the backdrop of a dark thicket. The artist believes that it is from the complexity and contradictions of life that genuine stories of beauty are born.
