Ira Lensberr
Ira Lensberr was born in 1988 in Volgograd. Lives and works in Moscow and St. Petersburg.A graphic artist by first education. In 2014 graduated from the British Higher School ofDesign in the direction of “Font Design”. In 2023 graduated from the Master’s program of theHSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL in the direction of “Contemporary Painting” in theworkshop of Vladimir Dubosarsky. Used to teach at the HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOLat the Bachelor’s degree program “Communication Design”. The works are under the artist’spseudonym panicanddesign or Ira Lensberr. Ira Lensberr’s illustrations have been publishedin Esquire, Elle and Marie Claire magazines.
About the artist
The main themes of the artist’s work include philosophical existence, the aesthetics of gray mundanity, the depression of modern urban life, and issues of social memory. Ira Lensberr captures ordinary scenes from life, infusing them with a touch of surrealism to leave the viewer constantly questioning: is this real or just an illusion? Due to these “extra” elements, the paintings are saturated with an unsettling atmosphere that envelops the architecture, the characters, and even permeates the narratives themselves.
