Nikolay Alekseyev

About the artist

Nikolay Alekseyev is a Russian artist, curator, teacher, and one of the founders of the Voronezh Center for Contemporary Art. Born in 1986 in Voronezh. Graduated from the painting and pedagogical department of the Voronezh Art School. Alekseyev works with the aesthetics of discovered objects, forms, videos, images and stories. He assembles collections and constructs a fictional, “fairy tale” narrative from them.

In 2014-2015 received a scholarship from the young artists support program of the Garage Museum of Modern Art. The artist’s works are in the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the History Museum of the Vyksa smelter, as well as private collections of Anton Belov, Pierre-Christian Brochet, Olga Sviblova, Andrey Malakhov, Dmitry Aksyonov and other collectors in Russia and Europe.
