Star clusters are visually related groups of stars that have a common origin and move in the gravitational field of the galaxy as a unified whole. Some star clusters also contain clouds of gas and dust besides stars.

As part of the work on the Catalogue, a number of sketches of star clusters have been developed, for which scientific expertise is required.
